I started a gym regimen of going to the gym 5x a week, as well as walking the dog or just being active. I plan to run a father-daughter road race, which I am excited about, and also by telling my dad about it (he&#039;s 60) i got him to start training as well!!

Also, I kicked off my workout lifestyle with new running sneakers! mizunos :)</description>

		<description>I&quot;ve recently lost some weight and need to tone those muscles and tighten that loose skin. Doing some cardio and working with free weights. Haven&#039;t done it for many years, so am starting slowly, but know what I&#039;m doing so I&#039;ll get there....again. Good feeling that I&#039;m once again back in a size 10. May not feel like much of an accomplishment to many people, but coming from a size 18 a couple of years ago...it&#039;s a major accomplishment to me!</description>

I run because it&#039;s a great way to let some steam off. So when I&#039;m angry or nervous or just need to clear my head, I put my running shoes on and run as fast as I can for as long as I can. The fact that I live in the country helps because I have a lot of space for running.

I&#039;m exercising simply because of cholesterol getting near 200 (and I&#039;m only 20!) and my gym has an incentives/rewards program for new members so it keeps me going every other day if not everyday :) Reading your post makes me want to train as well since we have a lot of marathons in Miami.

My husband and I both did the Couch to 5K program, which teaches the non-runner to run gradually.  My husband lost quite a bit of weight and I blogged about it here:  http://www.sashasays.com/2008/01/run-like-wind.html

After an illness in the fall that put running to the side for me, I did the Couch to 5K again to get back in the groove....  it&#039;s perfect for that!
