This holiday season, to be more ecofriendly, I have decided to give my closest friends and family gifts from Tarte. I really love that Tarte uses natural ingredients and doesn’t test their products on animals, I also love that the packaging is eco-friendly! I also love spreading the word to my friends and family about Tarte because not only is it good for the environment, but since I have switched to using all natural beauty products, my skin is much more radiant and healthy! To wrap these gifts I have handmade wrapping paper from newspaper and magazine scraps, personalizing each wrapping paper for each person so that it’s truly unique for them. Another way I stay eco-friendly during the holidays is to re-use wrapping paper or gift bags that I have received from others. I have a closet full of wrapping paper and bags from past birthdays, Christmas’ and more. I don’t think I’ll ever need to get a new roll of wrapping paper or bag, ever again!

In an effort to be more eco-conscious this year I have made a few reusable wrapping bags that I will put all of my gifts in. The bags can be reused for future gift givings. I also went ahead and purchased all of my makeup essentials from Tarte during your 40% sale!! I’m thrilled to be able to say that my makeup comes from a natural, eco-friendly company. (I also purchased a few gifts for others in this order to keep with the giving holiday spirit.)

For years, I’ve been trying to be creative with packaging holiday gifts — using more gift bags, less paper, no boxes, etc. But this year, I’m going to try and package all gifts in reusable totes. That way the gift bag is sort of a gift as well:)

I smoothed out & saved all the packing paper from my tarte and other online purchases and am using it as wrapping paper!
All my friends know to recycle it, too

To be more Eco-friendly this year, I am using brown paper bags I received from grocery shopping to wrap my presents. For decorations on my wrapping, I used garden flowers picked from my yard. I used sticky rice to glue the flowers onto the wrapping paper. It turned out really nice and I was impressed! I also used strings from old halter tops and tanks to tie my presents with.

we just started composting recently, thanks to all the food-generated trash from the holidays! plus, my family has been using the same gift bags for years now – why throw them away when we can use them again and again??

I re-use holiday gift bags every year and put new presents in them. This year I also saved holiday cards from years past and cut the front pictures off from them and used them to make my own homemade holiday cards and ornaments.
