At tarte™ we’re inspired by the everyday woman—teachers, lawyers, fashionistas, new moms, working moms, grandmas (or as our Executive Director of Sales & Education likes to say: glam-mas) and our list goes on! We love learning about this woman and enhancing her natural beauty with good for you glamour. To us it’s important that we celebrate these natural beauties year-round. So we hit the streets of NYC, stopping real women at random and convincing them to dish their makeup secrets.
day to day: Makeup Artist—this was pure coincidence, we had no idea Michelle was a makeup artist when we stopped her on the street.
beauty philosophy: “Less is more! Everyone looks better with a little makeup, but don’t go overboard.”
by the numbers: An average of 10 minutes to apply six products daily.
first makeup purchase ever: “A horrendous raspberry colored blush. I was probably 10 or 12.”
must-know tip: “Use blush! I think a lot of women underplay blush, they don’t understand how much it can enhance the face. Blush brightens, it makes you look younger.”
Let us know what you think of our new, weekly blog series: natural beauties. Maybe you’ll be our next natural beauty!
Jen here, introducing my new column Jen’s Pick, where I’ll be sharing eco-friendly must-haves that I just can’t keep to myself!
The Details: SAAKO Scarves. Handmade in Barcelona, these incredible pieces are edgy, trendy and currently at the top of my fall fashion accessory list.
The Low Down: Design geniuses Ines Brito and Joana Gouveia began experimenting with jersey in 1989, turning the material into trendy neckwear. With ‘reuse’ as their creative philosophy, they produced earthy and vibrant scarves from recycled fabrics.
What’s to Love: SAAKO scarves are extremely comfortable, affordable, and add a bohemian edge to any look, making them a fantastic year-round addition to your closet. Plus, they also make great gifts!
