Covet the seemingly perfect skin celebs rock 24/7? Some of it’s smoke and mirrors, and some of it is real. Below are our favorite tips and tricks from ladies whose complexion is used to the spotlight.
The moment Connie Britton appeared on-screen in Friday Night Lights, she walked straight into our hearts. (And if you haven’t seen this show, tartelettes, then run – don’t walk – to your nearest Netflix subscription and devour the whole delicious, feel-good series at once.) As Tami Taylor, Connie played the type of woman we always aspired to be: whip-smart, funny, graceful, and – above all – one that never took any crap from anyone. (And that hair!) So, imagine our pleasure in discovering that Connie herself is as charming and feisty as the woman she played on the silver screen.
Now, she’s back in another Southern-inflected role in Nashville, a show that focused on the drama of a different intense world far from football – country music. We’ll be watching and rooting on our favorite sassy gal! Will you?
It might be considered sacrilegious to say this (especially in New York), but we’re gonna risk it: sometimes, we get tired of black. Gasp! But It’s true. Our go-to outfits generally involve hefty amounts of the inky color, which is easy to wear and chic – and also pretty boring day-in and day-out. So, what’s a busy woman to do? Lately, we’ve been spicing up our everyday wardrobe with navy blue, another neutral that has a bit more sparkle and pizzazz than basic black. It goes with everything, it’s equally flattering, and it’s unexpected – like these adorable pieces below. More >

The summer blockbuster may be Hollywood’s working goal, but if you ask us, fall is truly the time to sit back and watch some good movies. Starting this month with Halloween and moving right through to December, it’s time for some great, and frightening, cinema.

It’s hard to resist dipping your hand in your little sibling’s or child’s candy bag. And we know that stealing candy from an unsuspecting kid can shame you with guilt, not to mention add a few lbs! Mindy Kaling is the type of girl we’ve been longing to see on the silver screen for ages. She’s so refreshingly real and representative of young women in a way that other young starlets aren’t. With her razor-sharp sense of humor, her sheer guts, and, yes, even her insecurities, she is the hilarious and admirable friend we wish we had. We’ve loved her since we found out she was more than just a ditz on The Office – oh yeah, she was a writer and co-executive producer for the show, too. Her charming memoir, Is Everyone Hanging out Without Me? (And Other Concerns), endeared her even more to our hearts. And, now, her new sitcom, The Mindy Project, has the potential to be a funnier, more light-hearted, primetime derivative of Girls.
We’ll definitely be watching – will you?
