coffee break: celebs and their caffeine
There’s nothing like a hot cup of Joe, whether it’s first thing in the morning or any early afternoon pick-me-up — I love my coffee. And apparently, I’m not the only one; here are some candid shots of some of our favorite celebs caffeinating themselves in public.
Ryan Reynolds gets his caffeine fix with a furry friend.
Rachel Bilson grabs a cup of Joe on the go.
Miley Cyrus looks like she’s been up all night….hope that’s a double shot in there…
It’s amazing how Mila Kunis can make grabbing an ice coffee in an awkward motion shot look lovely.
Michael Cerra wouldn’t be a true hipster without a coffe in his hand. But not Starbucks…that’s against hipster law.
Caffeine queen Mary-Kate Olsen’s hand has literally morphed into the shape of a Starbucks grande cup… true love or true addiction?
Kim Kardashion looks oh-so-chic with those oversized aviator sunnies and grande Starbucks…go Kim!
If Kate Hudson didn’t have that sip of coffe to keep her alert before stepping off this curb she might have fallen. Coffee….saving one life at a time.
Is it just us, or Emma Roberts taunting non-Californians with her a tank top and iced coffee? Yeah, we know, it’s always sunny in California.
Love birds Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux casually stroll side by side, coffee cups in hand.

celeb winter style
2011 may be little more than a memory now, but the brutal reality of a cold, hard winter is very much with us. While comfort and warmth are musts, you don’t have to forgo style to get them.
Here, Hollywood’s most elegant and trendy school you on how to rock the winter months.
- The Beret: This chic piece adds instant panache. Scarlett Johansson definitely dressing for warmth here, but her beret and sunnies makes the look utterly feminine.
- Detailed Capes: Much like a poncho, pulling off a cape can be dicey. We give Rachel Bilson a perfect10 for this look – that hounds tooth detailing is to die for.
- Tall Boots: Ok, yes, Miranda Kerr looks good in anything, but she’s also sporting the one winter accessory that looks good on anybody: tall boots.
- Playful Knits: Are we really surprised that Katy Perry can make cold weather gear adorable and flirty? No.
- Scarves: What did Kate Winslet teach us this winter? That there’s a reason chunky scarves are all the rage — they can make any outfit look trendy.
- Layering: Blake Lively does an excellent job of keeping warm by expertly layering inner and outerwear. Chic, sleek and snuggly!

Celebs Who Support Ethical Fashion
Aside from beauty, I have two other obsessions: celebs and their style. Imagine how thrilled I am to find more and more celebrities incorporating ethical fashion into their everyday wardrobe. An increasing number of Hollywood’s elite have been associated with sustainable style, including: Jennifer Aniston, Sheryl Crow, Rachel Bilson, Alicia Silverstone, Adrian Grenier, Cameron Diaz, Natalie Portman.
So spill, tweet or post on Facebook the eco-friendly brands hanging out in your close.

Oscar Beauty
Hi all!
I’m Kate—the newest member of the tarte team. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to blog about beauty, fashion and all things glamorous. For my official post, I’ve decided to share my thoughts on some of my favorite Oscar beauty trends. I know I’m a little late to the convo, but I’ve finally had the chance to digest all of the gorgeous gals!
I thought that stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Hillary Swank both dazzled with a natural , look. By using a nude lip color and sporting a rosy cheek, they flawlessly pulled it off with ease. Mila Kunis, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry and Michelle Williams all looked stunning rocking a sultry, smokey eye. They balanced it perfectly by complimenting the strong eye with softer shades on their cheeks and lips. And one of my all-time favorite trends of the evening was the classic look. I think Anne Hathaway and Sandra Bullock pulled this off well with a bold red lip color.
What were some of your favorite beauty trends?

~Brrrr…I just got back from Sundance! It was so much fun (and a lot of hard work!). We were part of a gifting suite (The Green House) and we met a lot of cool people (and of course, there were some celeb sightings). While Greg & I were walking down Main Street in our new, warm Moncler jackets we spotted: Anthony Hopkins, Christian Slater, Tara Reid, Nick Cannon, Kyra Sedgwick, Scott Speedman, Jamie Kennedy…..We also picked up some really cool shirts from The Secession. We didn’t get a chance to hit the slopes or catch some movies, but I did get a glimpse of Justin Timberlake! That counts for something! -candace
~So, even though I got back from my honeymoon not that long ago, it just kills me to not have a vacation to look forward to. I decided I had to plan something even if it was a while from now…so this morning I just booked a spontaneous trip to Mexico in May! I’ve heard so many good things about The Royal Hideaway Hotel and it’s an all-inclusive so now we don’t have to worry about anything—we can just show up and eat endless burritos & margaritas. This may be the highlight of Phil’s year since he loves Mexican food more than anything else. Four months to go until we’re luxuriating in the Riviera Maya…yay! -alexis
~While I’m craving a perfect dinner date I should follow that up with the perfect dessert! What could be better than going to NYC’s famed Serendipity for The Grand Opulence Sundae? I know. It sounds crazy $1,000 for an ice cream sundae? But, The Golden Opulence Sundae is the “World’s most expensive sundae”, and was created to celebrate Serendipity’s 50th Anniversay last year. Made with 5 scoops of the richest Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla and covered in 23K edible gold leaf, the sundae is drizzled with the world’s most expensive chocolate, Amedei Porceleana, and covered with chunks of rare Chuao chocolate. The masterpiece is suffused with exotic candied fruits from Paris, gold dragets, truffles and Marzipan Cherries. It is topped with a tiny glass bowl of Grand Passion Caviar, an exclusive dessert caviar that’s sweetened and infused with fresh passion fruit, orange and Armagnac. The sundae is served in a Baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet with an 18K gold spoon!-jasen
~This weekend Greg and I decided to add a little culture to our lives…so, we headed to the MET!! The Cézanne to Picasso: Ambroise Vollard, Patron of the Avant-Garde exhibit was amazing! It ended on Sunday, so we were just in time to check out all of the fun paintings! I’d have to say besides being obsessed with everything Egyptian (it dates back to a Mummy I saw in 4th grade at the Museum of Science), I really enjoyed the Nan Kempner: American Chic exhibit!! The clothes are just beautiful…there’s a reason she was the most renowned members of the Best-Dressed List’s Hall of Fame! There were so many Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino and Chanel pieces! If you’re a fashionista, I urge you to check it out!! -candaceJan 1st
