fall color inspiration: navy blue
It might be considered sacrilegious to say this (especially in New York), but we’re gonna risk it: sometimes, we get tired of black. Gasp! But It’s true. Our go-to outfits generally involve hefty amounts of the inky color, which is easy to wear and chic – and also pretty boring day-in and day-out. So, what’s a busy woman to do? Lately, we’ve been spicing up our everyday wardrobe with navy blue, another neutral that has a bit more sparkle and pizzazz than basic black. It goes with everything, it’s equally flattering, and it’s unexpected – like these adorable pieces below. More >

real “girls” style
Girls is being hailed as the next generation’s Sex and the City – and one that’s a little more true to life than the gilded un-reality of Carrie Bradshaw’s gorgeous apartment packed with Manolos and Dior. That’s not to say, though, that we still can’t have fun chronicling each Girls girls’ style, from Marni’s perfectly-coiffed gallery girl to Jessa’s bohemian free spirit. Here are a few of our favorite outfits from the first season, along with ways to recreate the looks yourself. More >

wine week: sparkling inspiration
We believe there’s a grape to suit any event, time of day, and budget – whether you’re craving a casual afternoon refreshment or the perfect beverage for a fancy dinner party. But there’s one genre of wine that is specially reserved for celebrations: the sparkling variety. And with good reason! What could be more festive, more congratulatory, more fete-worthy than a beautiful bubbly? The very pop of the cork is enough to put us in a jovial mood.
So cheers to whatever occasion you find bubble-worthy — and make sure to always have a few shimmery outfits to match.
Prosecco

Prosecco is a sparkling wine that hails from Italy — one that is a little more fruity than the typical champagne. It’s your classic bubbly, with a little bite! General tasting notes: pears, apples, honey.

Fall Fashion Must-Have: The Perfect Boot
Autumn is right around the corner, and we’re busy making room in our closets for our favorite fall fashions – including the undisputed staple of the season: the perfect pair of boots. Here are a few of my favorites styles for fall, styles that will be sure to have others following in your footsteps!

Vintage Rose
When it comes to fashion, fall would definitely be my favorite season. I love the brisk weather, autumn leaves & the Manhattan fashionistas walking the streets in the latest collections. Typically, I reach for rich jewel tones, rustic browns and chunky/nubby knits. However, this year I’ve found myself drawn to a color you cannot find in my closet: pink! I’ve never been a huge fan of the shade, but all of a sudden I love dusty rose with peach undertones. I can’t get enough of the romantic and vintage feel from the look seen above from Chloés fall 2009 collection. Even more enticing is the added edge from Vuitton (ditch the bunny ears!) I pulled ideas from both looks for an everyday look that is very much me—ultragirly waves, ruffles, sleek black ankle pants and natural hair & makeup. This entire look is from J.Crew (a minor retail addiction of mine). I even blogged about the black pixie pant a year ago-they’re still one of my staples!
So here’s how you’d get this look! For easy waves, use a 1” Hot Tools curling iron and roll hair backward away from the face. For amazing clean & natural makeup I use rest assured brightening wand (apply to brow bone & inner well of the eye) and three carats limited-edition cheek stain in shade brilliant as eyeshadow (it’s perfect)! I hope you enjoy this look as much as I do!
