Spring break is an American institution. Once reserved only for college students, it’s now a seasonal adventure for all ages, and styles. While plotting our own mad dashes for warmer climes — New York City can be brutal in March — we looked to some of our favorite vloggers and bloggers for inspiration.

hot trend: pocket umbrellas
As the winter season draws to a close you can be sure of one thing, it won’t go quietly. Much like the old adage says, we’ll have to suffer through some showers before we’re greeted with spring flowers. Luckily for all fashionistas braving the rain in heels, some of today’s hottest designers have put their spin on the season’s most utilitarian accessory: the pocket umbrella.
Yes, there is something sleek and chic about using a full-sized, long handled umbrella, but let’s face it, when you’re moving a mile a minute with a never-ending to-do list, those just get in the way. With both style and efficiency in mind we’ve rounded up some of the best mini-umbrellas on the market. From classic to quirky, there’s something for everyone. More >

girl crush: Lily Collins
Lily Collins is the cutest thing since that baby panda sneezed on YouTube…she has amazing style and a gorgeous set of killer brows that make Brooke Shield’s look sparse. With her flawless porcelain skin and black-as-night tresses, she was the obvious choice for the role of Snow White in the fairytale remake “Mirror Mirror.”
Off screen the girl has an eye for fashion appointing her our girl crush of the week.

Our favorite looks from ‘Mad Men’
it’s back! Finally, our Mad Men withdrawal is relieved! In the year and a half since we last checked in on Don, Betty, Joan, and Peggy, we’ve all been left with lingering questions – and a hunger for those clothes. Yes, yes, the plot is brilliant and the characters, fascinating, but, to be honest, we’re just as excited for the return of all that gorgeous period fashion. The show epitomizes a time when men and women alike relished dressing for the day, and knew how to make a statement with their attire.
From Joan’s curve-hugging shifts to Betty’s flouncy skirts, each character has a signature look that says something important about their personalities. Here, we’ve recapped our favorite fashion moments from the four leading women – with high hopes that this season’s wardrobe will top them all.
Betty in Rome

Betty’s amazing outfit in Rome is forever seared into this fashion blogger’s brain: the sexy straps, the black – a color unusual for preppy Betty – all accompanied by amazing hair and makeup. It was transformation enough to rekindle the Drapers’ marriage, if just for one evening.
Joan’s Red Dress
This red dress has seen a lot of screen time, with good reason. It perfectly complements Christina Hendricks’ hair color and figure, achieving a lovely balance between bombshell and professional.
Peggy in Plaid
Peggy is more focused on her career than her clothes. She always looks presentable, but isn’t always in a showstopper. But who could forget this outfit? A perfect cut and fit, in whimsical plaid.
Faye’s Black-and-White
Dr. Faye Miller is a charmingly complicated character, but her clothes are simple: professional cuts and lots of black-and-white. She lets her work speak for itself, with her outfits as a neutral backdrop. This scarf-neck dress is subtle and gorgeous. (And the Rorsharch-esque print, a wink at her profession.)

Jennifer Lawrence: style recap
Jennifer Lawrence stole our hearts as the beleaguered daughter of a meth cooker in the darkly enthralling film Winter’s Bone. It was clear this girl could act. But it wasn’t until she stepped on the red carpet at last year’s Oscars that she showed us her other side: she can dress, too.
Since then, Lawrence has regularly wowed us with her daring style selections. She’s not afraid of a statement gown, glamorous makeup, or a quick hair-color change. Nor does she mind showing off her amazing bod, while never straying to the wrong side of risky.
Here, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite looks that Jennifer has rocked in the past year. With the Hunger Games coming out this Friday, we’re looking forward to seeing a lot more of this fashion-forward starlet!
In one of her first major appearances for Winter’s Bone – last years Golden Globes — Jennifer chose this electric pink cut-out number by Oscar de la Renta.
Who knew the scraggly West Virginian she played in her breakout role could transform into a Baywatch-esque bombshell? Jennifer did her first Academy Awards right, and caught the world’s attention in a minimalist, head-turning Calvin Klein number.
Jennifer loves red… and a bit of architecture. This sculpted Miu Miu silhouette is fun, and flattering.
We wonder, has Jennifer met a body-con dress she didn’t like? Doubt it. Here, she rocked a curve-hugging navy sheath and a new hair color for an appearance on David Letterman.
While most budding stars might shy away from wild fashion choices, Jennifer’s not afraid to play — like she does here with this fantastical Viktor & Rolf cut-out piece.
Once again, the girl loves to show some skin, as with this amazing Tom Ford zipper dress — but the sexiness is balanced by a long silhouette, demure heels, and youthful makeup. Perfection.

best-dressed at 84th Academy Awards
Ellie Kemper looked amazing in this rust sequin strapless. This dress accentuates her curves and complimented her gorgeous locks making her our pick for boldest-dressed!
Lara Spencer simply shone in this one shoulder gown. From the texture to the cut — which truly accentuated her statuesque physique — the look was flawless.
Louise Roe took our breath away with the unique white satin gown. Delightfully ladylike, we love the metallic details.
Maria Menounos looked stunning in the green side cut out gown. Showing off her natural curves while managing to keep the look elegant, we have to give her a nod as the evening’s sexiest-dressed celeb. Meow!
Michelle Williams is almost always a red carpet beauty stand out with her striking and flawless porcelain skin, but this Louis Vuitton number sent her straight to the top for our best dressed list. Chic yet adorable!
Milla Jovovich dazzled in this jaw dropping Elie Saab one shoulder gown.
Missi Pyle looked incredible in this eco-friendly turquoise design. She proved going green doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish!
Berenice Bejo wore a low cut, long sleeved mint green Elie Saab creation. The gown, paired with her red locks, was a study in elegance that was not lost in translation.
Gwenyth Paltrow is almost always a fashion ‘do’ and last night she proved why with this gorgeous Tom Ford gown. We give Gwenyth our vote for most chic.
Stacie Keibler looked incredible last night — and it wasn’t just George Clooney on her arm! She rocked this amazing gold lamé Marchesa gown, causing neck sprains up and down the red carpet, making her tarte’s favorite head turner of the night.
