Spring break is an American institution. Once reserved only for college students, it’s now a seasonal adventure for all ages, and styles. While plotting our own mad dashes for warmer climes — New York City can be brutal in March — we looked to some of our favorite vloggers and bloggers for inspiration.
As the winter season draws to a close you can be sure of one thing, it won’t go quietly. Much like the old adage says, we’ll have to suffer through some showers before we’re greeted with spring flowers. Luckily for all fashionistas braving the rain in heels, some of today’s hottest designers have put their spin on the season’s most utilitarian accessory: the pocket umbrella.
Yes, there is something sleek and chic about using a full-sized, long handled umbrella, but let’s face it, when you’re moving a mile a minute with a never-ending to-do list, those just get in the way. With both style and efficiency in mind we’ve rounded up some of the best mini-umbrellas on the market. From classic to quirky, there’s something for everyone. More >
If you live in NYC, you know that winter is still here! And while winter gives us an excuse to wear some of our favorite accessories, there is always some winter accessories that are more gear than fashion. Right now, the only things I want to wear are head-turning shades of solid color. I’m not sure if it was the overwhelming onslaught of soft, subtle neutrals that pervaded our wardrobes all spring, but suddenly my thirst for bright, bold, nearly shocking pops of color is unquenchable. And the most satisfying of them all has to be hot pink. Just one swipe of this electric hue is enough to perk me up – whether in the form of a sunning statement necklace, the perfect satchel, or even my all time favorite childhood chewing gum.
Here are a few of the fuschia items I’m lusting after today:
As our operations coordinator, Rachel manages all of our makeup kits; the next time you snag a box full of all your favorite tarte products for one ridiculous price, send her a nod of thanks. As a former employee of Michael Kors, she brings a splash of honest-to-goodness couture-chic to our office. Obsessed with design, clean lines and minimalistic style, Rachel practices what she preaches. We stopped by her fastidiously sleek desk to find out which necessities made the cut for permanent residency.
The winter is almost over! Goodbye black, hello color.
Designers like Rebecca Minkoff and Stella McCartney never let me down when it comes to keeping things fresh — they’ve both released bright and vivacious spring lines of handbags. Here are a couple of my faves.
