green with envy
Good Ol’ St. Paddy’s day is just two days away. And while we admit to indulging in a shamrock shake or a green beer at least once, we’d like to shift the focus of the holiday from green colored beverges to kelly-colored fashions. When you add in the fact that emerald is the pantone color of the year, we decided to up the ante by hunting down some of the chicest–and priciest — to-die-for duds and accesories.
Here’s, products that turn us green with envy… More >

hot summer color: hot pink!
Right now, the only things I want to wear are head-turning shades of solid color. I’m not sure if it was the overwhelming onslaught of soft, subtle neutrals that pervaded our wardrobes all spring, but suddenly my thirst for bright, bold, nearly shocking pops of color is unquenchable. And the most satisfying of them all has to be hot pink. Just one swipe of this electric hue is enough to perk me up – whether in the form of a sunning statement necklace, the perfect satchel, or even my all time favorite childhood chewing gum.
Here are a few of the fuschia items I’m lusting after today:

summertime sailor style
Who doesn’t like a good sailor striped tee? Nautical style and ocean-bound looks never seem to go out of fashion, and they’re most appropriate for summertime. Here are a few ways you can add some maritime splash to your wardrobe – whether or not you’re spending your summer on a boat.
stripes
A classic blue-and-white stripe immediately conjures up visions of a fancy yacht on the French Riviera. Get in the mood with a striped t-shirt, like this one from J.Crew.
boat shoes
The name says it all. Channel your inner sailor with the old-school canvas version from Sperry.
pops of coral-red
Accessorize your look with a splash of lobster red. Nothing looks fresher when paired with a nautical palette of blues and whites. Try a red belt or bag – or go the easiest, prettiest route with a bright coral-red lip, courtesy tarte’s LipSurgence lip tint in Spirited.
chain-link accessories
Gold chain jewelry is a mainstay among the yachting set. Regardless of your yacht-owning status, you can still dress the part! We love this simple bracelet from Michael Kors.
boat-worthy Bikini
No sailor-ette would be caught dead without a bikini on hand- like this sweet anchor-print one from Lilly Pulitzer. A well-chosen two-piece can add a little chic to any seafaring vessel, regardless of its size or capabilities.

fall trends from New York Fashion Week
Well, tartelettes, that’s a wrap: New York Fashion Week is officially over. The last makeup cases and sewing kits were packed up at Lincoln Center last night… but, for us, the fun is only getting started.
Now we get to play dress-up! We’ve checked out our favorite shows and pulled a few trends that will be inspiring our fall wardrobes.
who wears the pants?
After a few seasons of watching ethereal dress after ethereal dress traipse down the runway, it was a pleasure to see a more moody and structured silhouette return for fall 2012. Gorgeous, tailored trousers were everywhere, such as this fifties-inspired pair from J.Crew.
Sparkles littered the runways this year, as designers sprinkled them on everything from coats to gowns. This fully-glittered dress from Theysken’s Theory stopped us in our tracks.suit up
Menswear continues to be a strong fall trend. Strong-shouldered, suiting-inspired coats and full-on pantsuits appeared in shows everywhere; the Ralph Lauren collection was dominated by them.
gettin’ chunky
When it’s cold outside, there’s nothing we love more then a ridiculously oversized sweater. If you’re like us, you’re in luck: fall 2012 brings tons of chunky and loose-knit jumpers, like this one from Michael Kors.
Make an outerwear statement
Many a designer sent statement coats down the runway this fashion week – a practical counter-balance for all those sheer tops! We adored this kaleidoscopic version by Rodarte.
the dark side
The overall sentiment in the design world seems to have shifted from soft and girly to dark and moody. From the abundance of dark colors – wine and black being the most common – to the more structured silhouettes, the clothes this fashion week seemed more brooding and complex and, therefore, more interesting, like this look from Yigal Azrouel.

Pinky on the Brain

Pink went through some pretty tough stuff in the early 2000s. It was forced onto everything from flippy skirts (circa 2003: I owned about twelve), monogrammed tees and plenty of unsuspecting lapdogs (Paris Hilton, much?)
Well thanks to M.Kors Fall 2009 and some fashion-forward beauty brands, the hue has chicly joined us in 2010…but with a seriously styling makeover. Buh-bye, baby and blush! Hello, hautehot fuschia!
The rose of today is less girly-girl, more womanly wow! While the old hue purrrrred, the new neon roars! Rather than dominating an entire ensemble, it adds a stylish splash to an otherwise basic look. And this summer pink goes pop on every extra from lipstick to pumps, purses to nailpolish!
- Totally dying over this fuschia crossbody bag by Antik Batik. The snakeskin is luxe and the small size won’t weigh you down when the weather gets warm. I would pair this with a crisp white shirt dress for a day of lunch and shopping with the gals!
- I live in a fantasy fashionland where haute pink is a neutral shoe hue…a little crazy, huh? Well I say crazy chic because a pink BCBG pump I purchased last spring has become my go-to going out gear! This Dolce Vita Pela wedge is the perfect pink pop for summer. I’m envisioning endless shorts ensembles!
- I adore Alexis Bittar designs because they are distinct and gorgeous, without the hefty pricetag of other costume jewels. The pyramid stud earrings certainly live up to the Bittar Buzz! Ideal for the gal who wants just a flash of fun!
- Now the beauty banter— swipe tarte’s True Love cheek stain on sunkissed skin for a fab flush. Or pucker up to LipSurgence lip stain in Amused for a pink pout. My go to nail color is Zoya’s Jolene—an adorable hot pink that is “Hot Child in the City,” rather than “Hot Child on the Playground!”
- I know everybody and their mom/dog/cousin/granny is rockin Ray-bans, but nearly no one is wearing them in rose! I am huge fan of aviators, and this femme hue balances the tough Top Gun shape.
So tartelettes, whether you go full out or just add a dash—this summer think pink!

Chain Gang
Jealous? I know!
Well, 2009 has revitalized the chunky chain, but no worries, tartelettes! Keds are no longer required. Instead, you can count on some of the hautest names in the jewelry game- Michael Kors, Max&Chloe and Kenneth Jay Lane!
