There are a lot of things we’ve always loved about Molly Sims: her eclectic and effortlessly chic style, her open and honest approach to beauty, the fact that she’s a dedicated humanitarian, a bona fide southern belle, and just an all-around lovely person.
Oh, yeah, and she’s a huge tarte fan.
Now we have one more thing to add to the What We Love About Molly list: A few weeks ago, Molly launched MollySims.com. It’s an amazing site that offers fashion tips, beauty advice, and Molly’s insights on life, style, fitness, and well, everything else under the sun. Plus, the site has an interactive online community where users can chat and share with each other.
Make sure to check out the site — your skin will thank you for it!
I love a long day at the beach, but there’s nothing worse than trying to get dressed with a sun-scorched body. Ouch!!
I urge you don’t skip or skimp out on sunblock! To begin you’ll experience that immediate, lobster- redness and pain. Secondly, you’re aging your skin. Hello, wrinkles! And the scariest aspect: skin damage or even that dreaded C word. Well folks with just some simple steps, you can easily prevent it! Wear sunscreen and SPF, throw on a hat (protect your clap and that new hair shade), and rock a pair of trendy sunglasses! And don’t forget about your lips! Apply a healthy lip balm like tarte’s 24.7 lip sheer infused with SPF 15 and forgo the days of chapped lips.
Have fun in the sun but remember to stay protected. What are some of your sun safety tips?! We want to hear.
Early Sunday morning under the tents at Bryant Park, you could say the tarte team felt more in outer space than midtown Manhattan. OK maybe that’s a bit extreme, but Lela Rose was inspired by the textures and depths of the universe and her Fall 2010 collection speaks to that notion of nighttime skies and lunar moons. The tarte artistry team along with celebrity makeup artist lead, Tina Turnbow had the privilege to create the beauty look that complimented the ‘constellation like’ lineup. Tina created a muted, matte & cloudy complexion using tarte’s smooth operator tinted-moisturizer, provocateur pressed powder, blissful natural cheek stain & t-zone travel mattifying powder. But the focus was on the mysterious, moonlit eyes. Turnbow and team shaped depth with black, silver & graphite shadows using their eye-couture palettes; working from the outer corners in, they left no edges to the hazy look. A balmy but muted pout, textured updo by Ted Gibson & sparkling nails by Debra Lippman completed the ethereal feel. After two hours of backstage chaos & anticipation (might I add much-enjoyed chaos) the leggy beauties strutted the runway & “across the universe”.
