I got this for Christmas in green and I must admit, I've been wearing green eyeliner a lot more often since then. It is a smooth, creamy pencil that stays on the waterline and won't budge through anything. I have blue-gray eyes and it really makes them pop. These eye liners really and truly glide on like butter. They are so soft, but you have to be careful. I was used to the eye liners that were dry and had to tug and pull. I kept pressing too hard and the line was coming out too dark and thick. But now that I got used to how soft these are I have perfected it. If you're having too much of a hard time applying don't give up keep practicing. Remember it doesn't have all that gross stuff on them so its worth it. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I am still debating about this product.
Pro: doesn't irritate my eyes, smooth application, and it works on the inner rim.
Con: It is very small (1/3 the size of regular eyeliner), it doesn't stay on the rim for long, and it runs down from the rim, giving me a smokey effect later in the day. I think some people would like that, but I would like it to stay on my rim.

I like, but do not love this product. The great thing is that these are so smooth that they glide on like butter, but that is also the downside of these. They are so soft that it is hard to apply these. I bought the color charcoal and it is very pigmented but I ended up having to keep applying more and more until I had a huge, fat line of eyeliner instead of the nice thin line I was trying to go for because the eyeliner was so soft it went on kind of messy and I had to try to fix it by applying more. These also do tend to come off through out the day so they do not have really good staying power. If you decide to buy one of these twist a little of product up at a time or else you will end up wasting a lot of it since it will break off because it is so soft. As for eyeliners I prefer the smoldereyes and would like to try the eyeliner pots. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I got these quite a few months ago when they were BOGO, or half off, either way, OMG I'm so glad I did! They are such great liners. I love the cool feeling. I love how they smudge and I love the colors. They are very pigmented and soft. A little goes a long way for me. I don't wear these to the gym because they do smudge when I get all sweaty. If you haven't tried these, DO. You won't be sorry. Just be careful not to twist up too far or it will break off. I've never done that, but I can see how it happens. Would you buy this product again? a staple in navy! I'm very pale so navy is a lot less harsh on my skin. the gel liners the only kind that lasts all day without rubbing off. the pencil is soft so be sure to be careful so it doesn't break. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I got one of these in my TrueBlood pallette and completely fell in love with it. This applied how I wish the pot eyeliners would and I went back during a site special and bought a dozen pencils in different colours for my mother and myself. They do apply heavily if you just use the pencil, I dot it along my lashline and smooth it out with a liner brush to save on product since there is a very tiny amount of product for the price. I'm subtracting a star solely because of the price per actually product since one pencil barely lasts a month. However, it is a superior eyeliner, soft, smooth and does not budge once set even with my super watery eyes in Texas heat and humidity. Would you buy this product again? Yes

Usually when I wear eyeliner (not often, because of this), it ends up blotting onto my upper eyelid and I feel like I have to keep checking in the mirror to make sure its staying put. With tarte aqua-gel eyeliner, however, every time I checked the mirror I was smiling and thrilled that my eye makeup was still looking great! The most pigmented stick liner I have ever used, ever. I love the black. It is the deepest truest black I have ever used. It is amazing actually. Normally I think of black as harsh. This manages to be the deepest black, but yet is not harsh. The brown is an espresso color, a deep brown. I love that there are fun colors, brighter colors. The plum is pigmented while still being somewhat bright. Very wearable at the same time. Great color from these.
There are issues. First it is very soft. Only wind up as much as you need. If you do that, you won't get breaking. Other issue, it is so soft your lashes cut through it like a knife on room temp butter. Dot it on and you wont get any spots that later smudge. Connect the dots after your first 'line' of dots. This liner is very very long lasting. If you make a mistake it is some work to fix it. I suggest keeping q-tips and oil free makeup remover on hand for your first few tries. I LOVE these eyeliners :) They are so, so pigmented and so easy to apply that they blow Urban Decay liners out of the water. Yes they do break very easy, but that is only because they are so soft and literally glide on by barley touching your eye. I broke a piece from my first one, but then simply learned not to screw the lines up too much. This eyeliner (I have it in black) is amazingly pigmented and long wearing. However, it is so soft in texture it gets used up fast and can be a bit tricky to apply without making a mess; this can be a good or a back thing. I also can't wear this on my waterline because it makes my eyes water like crazy, a problem I've never had with any other eyeliner. Overall, this is a good product, not what I tend to reach for every day due to the deficits mentioned. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I picked these up for $9 at Ulta, and I have to say, these are not some of my favorite Tarte products. I bought four of them; teal, bronze, green and plum. I have only tried the teal, and while I love the thin line, it doesn't go on my eyelid very smooth. It doesn't exactly pull and tug, it just looks clumpy in some spots. I always have to use a smudger brush to fix that, but overall, I love the colors, pigmentation, and stay power. I would only repurchase this during a killer sale. Would you buy this product again? I like the formula of this liner a lot - it's easy to apply and blend if you want, or you can just leave it as is. Great formula! It's just a little fragile, so be careful not to drop it. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I love this eyeliner! Sometimes my eyelids would get itchy when I would wear eyeliners with all the parabens and stuff in them, but I never have that problem with this eyeliner. I also love that the aqua-gel kind goes on so smooth and dark and it comes off easy with eye makeup remover!! It's just a little on the expensive side since it doesn't last very long at all. I have these eyeliners in black and brown and I LOVE them. They both give super pigmented, intense color, and I've never had a problem with smudging or fading even after wearing them all day. The feel smooth, cool and wet going on, almost like a mix between liquid and pencil liner. What I like the most about them is that these liners are easy to get right at the lash line, giving the illusion of fuller lashes. I haven't used these on the waterline, and I've heard they irritate the eyes when used there; but they're great for the top and bottom lash lines. I really want to try other colors, like the navy or the plum. Try one of these out; you won't regret it! :) Would you buy this product again? Yes

I have this in teal, plum and bronze. The best thing about it is that it blends SO easliy. NO need to press hard, sharpen to a fine point and therefore no waste like with a liner that requires sharpening. Only downside, is if you have the liner up just too much, when you apply it will crumbles against your eye. So just be careful to have it only up as much as needed and you will be fine. It definitely meets it claim and provides very high pigment color too the eye. Would you buy this product again? Yes

Another great product from Tarte! These eyeliners are very soft and once they set, they do not smudge throughout the day. They apply smoothly and create perfectly defined lines without skipping. These eyeliners do not stay on the waterline, but they aren't designed for rimming the eyes. Beautiful range of colors to suit any eye color. However, it only receives 4 stars because as mentioned, they are slightly TOO soft and require a bit of work- a major disadvantage for mornings when you need to hurry out the door. I so appreciate how smoothly these liners glide on. I also like how easily they are to control so I can get the precise liner look I want each time. It took me a couple of times to figure out that I only need just a teensy bit showing in order not to break the tip off. Once I figured that out I have been really enjoying them. I received this eyeliner in my True Blood collection. This is my first aqua-gel eyeliner and it will be my last. I did love how easy it went on and how cool it felt on my eyes. I loved how dramatic the color looked (and it should be used only at night). However, it smudged over and over. I had to keep cleaning it up for a few hours. This eyeliner does give you a nice precise line and allows you to get close to your lash line. It doesn't budge at all, even in the heat and humidity, and unlike some of my other long-wear eyeliners, I don't have to scrub and scrub to remove it; it comes off quite easily with a makeup remover towelette. I didn't have any problems with irritation, but I haven't had problems with other eyeliners either.
The jury is still out as to the value of this eyeliner. With a net weight of 0.1 grams, there is 12 times more product in most pencil eyeliners (1.2 grams). Of course, there is some product lost to sharpening, but even if 50% of the product is lost to sharpening, there's still 6 times as much product in a pencil eyeliner. Unfortunately, emphasEYES isn't 6 times cheaper than comparable quality brands (it's about the same). I must also note that 0.1 grams is a common size for other twist-up liners, so tarte is on par with similarly packaged and quality eyeliners.
EmphasEYES can help you draw a finer line, the staying power is better than most eyeliners, it comes off when you want it to, and of course, tarte doesn't put any parabens or other bad stuff in their products. So, considering that this eyeliner offers things that other brands do not, I'll leave it to you to decide whether the price and the frequency of replacement is in your price range. I have tried probably every eye liner on the market, swearing to stay put. After purchasing this in the Charcoal, I knew I had found a winner!! It is cooling, goes on very smoothly with a light hand & can be used on the upper lid, lower lid or inner rim and does not move. Firstly, I will say it has a very unique and cooling feel to it as it glides on your inner lid. I have been applying department store brands to the same area for years and have never had any issues with irritation. The colors are beautiful, as long as they stay in the tube... because I could hardly tell I was wearing anything except for the reasons you'll see in a moment. For some reason, even applying it with a feather light touch, it went blunt extremely quickly. Also, major irritation within only moments. I had little pieces (VERY tiny, like pin-pick sizes mind you) in each of my eyes. This happened the first time I applied it and thought maybe I did something wrong? Until it happened the 2nd time. I gave it to a friend, she had the same issue. I would not buy again, but if you are somewhere you can sample this product directly from the pencil, try it because you may wind up having the same issue and be majorly disappointed. However, I use ONLY Tarte cosmetics for the rest of my make-up regimen and I will say, as an adult with mild-severe acne, I couldn't be happier. I'll just continue buying my Almay eye liner. Great color selections. Wish there was a light champagne color with shimmer for the inner eye area. I also wish it came with a smudger on the end. I just use an old smudger from another liner. I love the color selections, a nice lilac or lighter purple would be great too. I love it though. It glides on easily, does not migrate, stays until I wash it off, and the color stays true. I have heard a few complaints about the size of the liner, I think it is okay. I do notice that tarte gives huge containers that are not entirely filled which is deceptive, but most companies do that. I have been using the same liner every day for a month and I still have pretty much left. Would you buy this product again? Yes

Color payoff is fantastic (bronze) however the stick broke the first time I used it. Product is very soft, almost melts into your skin. There is not much product for the price. Maybe save it for very special occasions. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I bought this shade in "BROWN" I'm fair skinned with blonde hair and blue eyes.. I LOVE the smooth application and dark brown color. I don't use black because it just looks too harsh on me but also don't love bronze because of the shimmer. I finally found the perfect liner in BROWN!! I'm not the best with application but I do think it's easier then other liners.. I just smudge it with my double sided smudger and presto.. perfect eyes!! Would you buy this product again? Yes

This is the best natural eye liner I have ever used. It is the only eye liner I will use from now on. Everything else pales in comparison. This lasts until I decide to wash it off. It stays exactly where I put it. I have watery eyes due to allergies, and oily eye lids, it stays on through all of that. Great selection of colors too. Wish there were a light purple, lilac maybe. There is no smudger on the end, I do not like them anyways because how do you clean them, so I use a thicker liner brush to smudge it out. It sets pretty quickly, so you have to be fast. I will continue to buy this product. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I gave this four stars for several reasons. First this is a great alternative to gel liners when you are in a hurry. I mean who wants to carry a pot and brush around everywhere? But just like pot gel liners it takes some times to learn to control the liner. This is great though because it goes on smooth and creates a dark dramatic line. If you are looking for something softer I would suggest picking a lighter color. I use the black and so it is always dark and dramatic. I mostly use it in the inner eye to create thicker lashes but once again it takes some getting used to as far as control. Make sure you do not sharpen it too much when using because it is soft and easily breaks. So I just use a little at a time and build up. I think this is a good value. I use this often and liner has to be replaces so often who wants a big pencil that is never going to get used? Would you buy this product again? Yes

I have been an infrequent wearer of eyeliner in the past because of the 'made up' appearance that usually results. This eyeliner is a smooth gel consistency(very soft), glides on with an extremely light touch, and leaves either a fine line-with practice!- or can be blended easily for a more subtle, smokey look. A few days after receiving it in the mail my husband asked me if I'd been using it- he couldn't even tell! Just what I wanted to hear! I have this in a few colors. For me, the colors with shimmer work better. They glide on very smoothly, but if you put some pressure accidentally you can end up with a fatter line than you want. They do last all day which is nice. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I have this in green. The color is really nice and it does last all day on me but for the price I do not feel that you get very much product. Also the product is so soft that its difficult to apply because the tip gets dull very quickly. The gel formulation keeps this liner moist (until it dries and sets on the eyelid). When I apply this to my lash line the moistness makes some of my eyelashes get stuck on into the eyeliner which makes my eyeliner look bumpy. And they stay stuck so when I apply mascara I have less lashes to work with. No girl wants that. I'll just stick to the gel pot eyeliners instead. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I absolutely LOVE this liner. I purchased one in Bronze on 11/29. I couldn't give it the full stars because I have one MAJOR complaint! It just ran out yesterday! That means it only lasted me one month and I was only using it about 3 days per week. This is a big issue for someone who only purchases makeup once or twice a year and can't afford to spend $18/month on eyeliner...though I'd really like to!!! :) I suppose if I get a windfall I'll try to stock up because this is really good stuff. Just wish it lasted longer!!! I actually purchased it to replace a Tarte dual-sided pencil that came with my Tarte eyeliner I bought over a year ago--that little half pencil in bronze lasted over 12x as long as this aqua gel liner. I really love this eyeliner. I normally don't wear eyeliner because I usually have such problems with applying it, and then when it fades so quickly its not worth the effort. This eyeliner was suggested to me and I bought it because I had an event to go to. This eyeliner is different than others I have tried before, not only does it go on smooth but also very even, PLUS it lasts ALL DAY and into the next! It also removes easliy when I use my makeup remover. Like I said I normally don't buy or wear eyeliners but I've worn this EVERYDAY since I bought it almost two weeks ago. I really wanted to love this product but I was a bit disappointed. It is VERY soft which makes it difficult to apply without smudging, mine broke the first time I used it and I didn't even advance it at all or even pressed hard. It's also very small for what you pay. Lastly, the color "plum" is not plum at all, it's more of a true purple, that was actually the major let down. Would you buy this product again? Yes

This eyeliner goes on like "BUTTER", the colors are fabulous. I generally use a gel or water to powder but no so easy carrying since those usually need a brush, other eye pencils pull on the eye lid without putting an even amount of product on the lid. I have converted two people I know to this eyeliner and I will continue sharing my wonderful finds to friends and family. In fact, this is one of my favorite products I am giving to my niece for Christmas -- may as well start her with the best stuff. Would you buy this product again? Yes

This provides a nice, pigmented color that seriously lasts all day. It goes on super smoothly and easily. The one downside is that since the liner is soft it gets dull. This isn't really a big issue because the liner itself isn't very wide in diameter so it makes a good sized line. If you want really, really fine lines you need to sharpen it a lot. This is my favorite eyeliner out of all the ones I own and i totally love it and recommend it! Would you buy this product again? Yes

I've only had this for two days, but I'm impressed. Its such a nice formula--gluides on so soft and smooth. It lasts all day even without eye primer. I love that you don't have to sharpen it. My only concern is that it seems one application uses a lot of product, so I might go through it quickly. I using the navy color now, but plum and green are on their way to my door already! These are the best gel liners I've ever used. They don't move! I tried one on my hand and it didn't move all day! That's when I knew i had to have one. I've got the charcoal right now and it's great. Not too black (of which I have many), but just neutral enough to go with most things. Works wonders with your eyes. I like that it's thin, like the Emphaseyes, because you don't always need a heavy liner. For that, use the clay pots. Great liners, Tarte. Definitely plan on buying more of these wonderful little liners. Would you buy this product again? Yes
