I got a sample black liner in my sephora points' bag. So happy with the bag, a tarte mini bag. I love eyeliners and have tried a couple from various brands and this liner just isn't dark enough. IT's perfect for a simple look or effortless look. But it doesn't work great if you want it to stand out and it can be rubbed off easily. It is a good product, it just didn't work for me because i like dark line with one application.

I received this pencil as part of a makeup kit. I like that this product is really easy to apply and that i don't need to sharpen it. Also, it doesn't irritate my eyes at all. I get a lot of compliments on my eyes when i wear just this and some mascara, so i really like it as part of a simple eye makeup routine. I feel like it makes my eyes look bigger. It does run a little bit, so that's why i didn't give it 5 stars. Other than that, a great product. Would you buy this product again? Yes

This really helps me to darken along the top lash line. Fills in the" in-between" lash spaces so I have darker fuller lashes right from the beginning! I have very sensitive skin, lots of allergies. This does not appear to irritate my eyes. Only 4 stars because it doesn't seem to work/remain on my lower rim. Would you buy this product again? Yes

Eh...it doesn't last on the waterline, which is what it is made for, so this is not good. It's not even very pigmented on the waterline to look good for the 30 minutes that it stays on. However, on the lashine it is very black, creamy, and stays put. Plus it's so tiny so you get a really precise line. Low rating because it doesn't do what it is supposed to, but still give it 2 stars because it's useful on the lashline. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I love this product. Is simply glides on and lasts forever!! Its wet consistency offers a smooth easily mendable application. Because this liner is sooo soft it can be somewhat easy to make mistakes, however it stays wet enough to easily fix any mistakes without making more errors. LOVE it!! This product was hit or miss with me. Some days I could wear it, and it would apply smoothly and stay in place. The next day it would be too soft to apply well, and turn out to be smudgy, and not stay in place at all. I can't tell you what the difference it is. It performs better than some other high end eyeliners that claim to be 24/7, so I would purchase it again, but only if it was on sale, or I was getting a deal on a set. In my opinion the gel eyeliner tarte makes is ssooooo much better. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I liked how this product looked and felt, but by the end of the day it had migrated from the inner rim of my lower lashes to below my lower lash line (like when you sleep in mascara or eyeliner). I have very oily lids & watery eyes, not easy to find a good liner that will stay put. I purchased one of these in black to line my waterline. It actually stayed exactly where I put it!! I also use it on my upper & lower lash lines when I'm looking for a more natural eye. Love these, the emphasEYES gel liners & the Amazonian Clay Pot liners as well. I have this in the plum color! I really hope that they didn't discontinue it because its a lovely color! I was actually disappointed when I got this because i thought it was a regular liner! Its a tightlining/waterlining liner but it works okay for the upper lashes. I do not put anything on my water line...i think it looks weird, feels weird, and people have been known to lose their sight by doing so. That being said I do like this pushed into the lash line! this looks really beautiful on your lash line, the color is much better than on your upper lid, and this really lasts. It makes it look like you just have really thick fluffy lashes which is super awesome! I use these eyeliners on my upper lash line rather than on my waterline. It doesn't smudge and really stays on when applied. The applicator makes it easy to apply the line as fine or thick as you want. Just be careful with how high you click.
Charcoal: Glides on really smooth. Great dark metallic gray color.
Black:Dark black shade.

I first feel in love with the tarte's inner rim eyeliner maybe 9 months ago after purchase of an Ulta Intro Tarte package which included a super deluxe of the black. The black easily glides on the inner rim and has long staying power. The only draw back that I experienced with the black liner was that if you raise the liner more than one click at a time, then the product will certainly break. I then purchased the Sephora 3 pack that includes black, brown, & bronze. So far I have used the black and the brown. The black worked as before, but the brown liner was shockingly bad. No pigment even adhered upon the initial application to inner rim or above my lash line. I seriously spent a hour applying the brown liner and nothing appeared. I am NEVER purchasing the brown again. I also have purchased on special from Sephora a beautiful blue shade of the inner rim liner. This liner does not stay for line on for very long and looks great with many different shades of eyeliner from other companies.
I don't think I will ever outright buy the black aloner as it is a standard color that frequently comes with a Tarte value pack. I will never, ever, ever buy the brown. I will however consider purchasing other colors in the future. Would you buy this product again? Yes
I received this eyeliner as a gift and it works decently as an eyeliner. I love the thin size of the tip because it gives me more control, and it definitely does not irritate my eyes which is good because I wear contacts and eyeliner on a daily basis. I wish the formula was creamier, because I feel like I have to use a lot of pressure to apply it on my waterline. Also, it doesn't stay on as long as I would like. Basically this eyeliner does the job, but I don't think I would go out to buy it. 24/7 liners from UD continue to be my favorite because it glides better on the water line and lasts a lot longer. I don't use this on my waterline, as I'm very fair and too much pigment on that part of my eye looks ridiculous on me, but I love it as an upper lid liner. It glides on smoothly, never skipping, and the color is even and intense. I like the fact that it's so thin, as I can easily make a thicker line on the outside corners and a very very thin on on the inside, leaving me with a lovely sultry eye. I have this in a blue color, but I will definitely be getting other shades that I can use on an everyday basis. Tarte has THE most fantastic eyeliners around! Would you buy this product again? Yes

i have this in three colors and i was actually a little disappointed, as this eyeliner doesn't last long on the inner rim, which was what it was designed for. it's also a little difficult to apply and breaks easily. the positive, though, is that it doesn't irritate my eye like many other eyeliners do when worn on the inner rim. it does look beautiful when first applied. i just wish it'd last longer. I like how thin the tip of the eyeliner is which is great for lining your waterline however, the pencil is just a little too hard or something for the color to go into my waterline. I have to push really hard to get any sort of color payoff onto my waterline so I just gave up after a while. I like to use products that glide better onto my waterline. The good thing about this liner is that it can create a very precise line so I like to use it to line my lower eyelids (not the waterline part). =) Would you buy this product again? Yes

Not super happy with this liner... I have the charcoal pencil, and was expecting it to be a little more pigmented based off other reviews. I don't know about the other colored pencils, but the charcoal lacks anything special. As for the staying power, I agree that the pencil is good for the waterline and inner corners of the eye, but sometimes the product doesn't want to go onto my eyes, it takes a while for me to work the product onto my eyes. I bought a set from Sephora that came with 3 colors: brown, bronze, and black. I really like all them. I use it when I want a super fine line. If I use it in the inner rim, it just glides. I have not experience the breakage other people has and it slides pretty smoothly on my lids. Another keeper by tarte. Would you buy this product again? Yes

Great little pencil. Has a perfectly thin line and dense color. I'm very fair, so dark eye make-up usually puts me in dracula territory. While I don't like using this as an inner rim pencil, it is my favorite choice as a regular eyeliner. The super thin line makes it easy for me to smudge and blend without looking overdone. My mother gave me a sample size of this eyeliner that she got in a gift set, and I tried it and loved it and have sent bought my own! This eyeliner would have been PERFECT when I was in highschool and lining the inner rim was the thing to do on a daily basis, other liners were always such a pain and hard on the sensitive surface! I wear contacts and am super sensitive to stuff getting in my eye and I haven't had a problem with this liner, which I do if I try to use a regular liner. It also stays very well. I like this, but it is a pretty underwhelming liner compared to the other liners from tarte. It didn't go on as smooth, and I actually wanted to use it other than in the inner rim to get that super thin liner look. I found it a bit tugging, but it blends nicely. i do love the liner, once i can get it on...it keeps breaking every time i try to apply it...i dont know if i just got a defective one or what..but even if i barley touch my eye with the pencil it still continues to break...at the rate im going it will run out within a couple weeks and will honestly seem like a waste of money....a more durable product would be nice because the liner itself is great..it doesnt irritate my eyes at all like most liners do Would you buy this product again? I am such a big fan of the clay eyeliner, but this left me slightly disappointed. It was not bad, but also did not really strike me as anything extraordinary. Plus, the packaging seems/feels so flimsy that it looks like the eyeliner started chipping off the top whenever i took it out of my makeup bag. When I applied, it was not as dark as I expected it to be. It went on as a light grey color. It is okay...I would not buy this color again but I would like to try a black one. I bought this thinking this was exactly what I was looking for! I thought this was a liner for the inner rim of my eyes, yet upon my attempt to use this (emphasis on the word "attempt"), it barely leaves any color on my inner rims at all. I do like the size of the pencil--the slimness is extremely easy to work with. Other than that, I'm not sure what I paid $18.00 for. Maybe I had too high of expectations for this product or something, but this didn't work like I wanted for me. I tried it on my waterline, and it was just OK. It's very long lasting on the upper and lower lash lines, but I still needed to touch up my waterline a few times throughout the day. I got this in a sample size in a set and will use it up. I would purchase this again for lining my lash lines, but I think the clay shadow/liners are way better and much longer lasting than this for all my eye-lining needs. I am totally in love with emphaseyes & this item is the reason why I became interested in Tarte! I just recently bought another one in plum, it really made my hazel eyes pop! It's now a favorite, however the black is STILL a huge must in my make up bag so no worries there. I just love how it can be quickly applied very thin and smooth. It also works really well at the waterline, it does smudge alittle throughout the day and would need to be reapplied. No complaints whatsoever! I hope Tarte will produce more colors in this item! When I wear this liner with the mascara people think a have on fake lashes. Lining your inner rim make your lashes look so thick and your eyes really pop. It is a must have item for your makeup bag! The black has the longest wear and the brown I usually have to touch up after lunch time. The only cons are that it does break off when using it and there is so little in the tube that it barely last you a month. I feel like it is overpriced but I have yet to find any liner like it. I got this free through a Sephora promotion, so I wasn't able to choose the color. This is the reason for my somewhat negative rating. It doesn't say what color the product is on the tube so I can only assume it is a limited-edition color sold exclusively with that set. It's a light cobalt blue, which doesn't exactly compliment my red hair and green eyes. Regardless of the color, I love the formula and thin point that doesn't need sharpening. I love that I can create a very thin line without much effort, and it stays put until I remove it. I'm sure if I picked this out in another color I would love it! Would you buy this product again? The performance of this product is really great! It lasts on top and bottom all day and many hours on my waterline. I also like how it is natural aspect of it so I don't feel as though I'm putting chemicals right in my eyes. That said, something in the formula makes it break off continuously. I now discovered that keeping it as short as possible helps to correct that, but it can't be wound back down so be careful. Applying pressure straight down rather than at an angle helps too. I purchased this in chocolate. I love the color and the product itself. However, I had to return because for some reason my kept breaking every time I applied! I use eyeliner only on my top lid and I can usually get it done very quickly. No matter how light of a hand I used to apply this, it would chip off onto my lid. I can see this as a great liner for the water line and corners of the eye, but for my top lid I think I'm going to try Tarte's other (thicker) liner. Would you buy this product again? Yes

These are the best eye liners in the world. My eyes tend to water when wear liner on my lower eye but this one works wonders. I never had any problems with watery eyes when I wear this eyeliner. However, they are kind of hard to use on the eyelids but the gel lines care perfect for that. Would you buy this product again? Yes

This is one of my desert island products for sure! I suffer severe allergies to most eye makeup and finding an eyeliner that not only looks great, but doesn't send my eyes into a days-long reaction has been a godsend! However, I am heartbroken that Tarte has chosen to discontinue some of its best colors: blue and gray. Unfortunately, the brown and plum eyeliners have caused terrible reactions (I've tried both), so I'm left with black (have not tried.....I am using what I have left of my blue and gray liners). I would be thrilled if the blue and gray returned to the lineup.
PLEASE Tarte Gods, bring back the other colors!!!!!! Would you buy this product again? Yes

I just bought a kit at Sephora and it had the emphasEYES inner rim brightener - which is a peach shade. I first thought I would love this liner to wear on my bottom inner rim to give my eyes that pop. I like it fair enough but I'm really impressed by wearing it in the inner corner to make me look more awake - it really does a great job at giving a fine line and glides on very easy. I wish there was a way to keep the tip as small as it is when you first buy it. Would you buy this product again? Yes
I just LOVE this little eyeliner. The tiny little tip makes it so easy to line your eyes, whether top or bottom and make it come out so clean looking, and professional. When I want a thicker line, I'll reach for the clay liners, but for thin liners, this is the bomb. Doesn't take much to make it look great. Gets right down into those lashes and makes the lashes look naturally dark at the bases. It's awesome. Does have a tendency to break, if you're not careful, but once you realize that, you know how to deal with it. Great product, once again. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I absolutely love these for tight lining. I wear contacts and I find that these stay put, do not smudge, and do not irritate my eyes. The plum is my favorite. I really brings out my blue eyes. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I went to a training for Tarte, and this was a gift I rec'd for attending. I love this product. It is great for creating a thin base line on the upper lashes to cover with a sultry shadow to achieve an awesome smokey look, or for the water-line on the lower lashes. Since that area of the eye is naturally wet, anything you apply in that area will eventually wear-off as the day continues; however, a little trick that helps with my wear of this product is drying the water line with your finger (clean of course) or Q-tip prior to applying it, and if you want setting it with a dark colored shadow. That greatly extends the wear in the inner-rim or water-line. Great product!! Would you buy this product again? Yes

I have it in charcoal and am not a good inner-rimmer, so I use it on my upper lashline. Lasts pretty much all day, but does run a little if used on the bottom lashiline. Very dense pigment, though, so usually one swipe does the trick. Would you buy this product again? Yes

I have it in charcoal. Love the color and texture and the effect is great looking. However, when it comes to the inner rim, if I wanted to keep the look I'd have to re-apply every two hours. It's nice as a regular eyeliner, but it really doesn't seem to be formulated for the inner rim which is the reason I purchased it in the first place. Would you buy this product again? Yes

One of my favorite eyeliners of all time! The tiny point really helps you get into the waterline nicely and really makes your eyes seem pretty. The colors are all super pigmented and don't smudge or migrate much. At the end of the day my eyeliner has faded slightly and it's a bit smudged, but that's at the end of a busy day! Besides, it's so easy to reapply and if you do reapply like I do, then you don't need to worry about smudging! I wish I could say that I owned all the colors, but hopefully soon I will! Would you buy this product again? Yes
