real “girls” style

Girls is being hailed as the next generation’s Sex and the City – and one that’s a little more true to life than the gilded un-reality of Carrie Bradshaw’s gorgeous apartment packed with Manolos and Dior. That’s not to say, though, that we still can’t have fun chronicling each Girls girls’ style, from Marni’s perfectly-coiffed gallery girl to Jessa’s bohemian free spirit. wine week: light, yet bold, fashion

tarte’s wine week continues with today’s feature: whites! Can you think of anything more refreshing on a hot summer afternoon than a glass of chilled white wine? We sip this pale-hued vino in the colder months, too – especially when we’re munching on veggie dishes, pastas, or fish.  Of course, if you’re prone to spillage (as we are), you know that white is the choice when light-colored clothing or drink-in-hand dancing might be involved.

Not all whites are created equal, however – they can range from clear, crisp, and grassy to golden, sweet, and rich. Below, a primer on a few of our favorite shades of white… and outfits to go with them all.

Casual Musts!

The tissue tank, buttery leather bag & shooties…As Rachel Zoe likes to say, “I DIE”. Everything about this laid-back look says, ‘I didn’t even try’. Well, I know you did and still think you look pretty cool. This ‘indie-loving scenester’ attire is made up of casual basics that are just so perfect together. However, they can also be paired with other goodies in your closet—taking on a whole new chic get-up. Even better, you can get most of the pieces on the cheap and invest in the shoes & bag (and they aren’t even outrageously priced)! And, hey, those camel shoes perfectly transition into fall with black tights. We just love multi-use!
