In love with this setting powder in translucent tan-deep. My skin stays flawless looking for at minimum 10 hours,and I work as a nurse.

Great for oily skin and combination skin
Fab setting powder, for oily or combination skin to set the oily areas. It pairs really well with the shape tape primer, shape tape foundation and shape tape concealer. After applying the setting powder, spritz with the Tarte setting powder for best result and makeup that literally won’t budge all day

Great, but oxydizes a bit

Not great for my skin texture (combination/oily)
Tarte is one of my all time favorite makeup brands! Every product I’ve used so far has exceeded all expectations, so when I got this product I was more than ecstatic! Unfortunately, I soon realized how much of a let down this setting powder was going to be. On the initial application of the powder, my combination skin was immediately intensified, in an unflattering manner of course. The dryness on and above my cheeks and under my eyes only magnified, but my oily forehead did seem to be reduced for a little while. It just didn’t live up to those expectations, and after a few hours of wearing it I was only more disappointed. That always expected shine I get when wearing a full face with my combination skin was inevitable. I was so sad! All and all, the product was silky and smooth of the parts of my face that aren’t too dry, so maybe just not a good product to use with a combo/oily T-zone ??

Didn't Hold As Well
I'm a fan of Tarte, but I've never tried their setting powders. Since I enjoy the shape tape foundation and concealer, it only made sense to try the shape tape setting powder. I had high expectations. The compact design was nice. It sifted the powder creating no to little clumps. Yet, I was a little disappointed at how it held throughout the day. After a few hours, it transferred easy. I was expecting more from it being that it has shape tape in the name.

Oil Absorbing!
I bought this to tone down the shine from my tinted moisturizer and it works perfectly. The only thing I'd change is to have one more tint of this powder. I'm in-between shades, so this "translucent" color tints to leave a little bit of whiteness on my face that really needs to be blended. That requires a brush and delicate stroke so as not to mess up the makeup I have underneath.
But otherwise, I really enjoy this powder and I'm glad to have purchased.

BEST ANSWER: The powder is very fine and basically creates a light matte finish. Not heavy at all. Staying power is not long term, but being that it’s so light you don’t feel weighted down by reapplying.

I typically only have to apply this in the morning. However, on a day that is extremely humid, or if I have been a little hot and sweaty and want to freshen my makeup up for an evening date or something, I will apply it again as a freshener instead of taking my makeup off and redoing it.

Is this good for setting your under eye shape tape or is this just for the face? Also I never seem to get the tape application on correctly no matter how much I moisturize and blend with my sponge. What am I doing wrong? It crumbles off or just won't stay. Frustrating me! Help!

It sounds like an issue with prep when it comes to the product rolling off, we would suggest trying a different primer or eye cream! A little Shape Tape concealer goes a long way...so use very little, and use your fingertips to blend out. Use a damp sponge, or a dense brush, and tap it into the lid of the powder...you don’t need much powder to set either!

they have very different formulas. The amazonian clay powder has a fine, white powder that I feel can be drying on my skin sometimes. The shapetape setting powder has a finer feel to it, and an off white color that blends seamlessly to my skin. I personally prefer the shape tape setting powder, it sets my make up beautifully without feeling dry.

I found it had quite a matt finish, but I did have highlighter and Illuminator on underneath and noticed it didn’t affect the shimmer of that at all!

I find that it works best if you remove the puff and the lid, then tap some of the product into the lid. I like the netting because it keeps you from loosing a lot of product.

The mesh used is amazing! It keeps the product from coming out until you need it. I use a powder brush and you barely press down and swirl and the product is easily picked up!

meaning does it show up cakey in pictures of yourself? Whenever I’ve worn it, it’s been fine and doesn’t show up cakey at all. It controls the oils on my face and I think I look great with it on.
