holiday trend alert: sequins

This holiday season is all about glitz and glam, and sequins are back — in a big way.  We’re not talking ‘80’s- style prom dress sequins, but a subtle and elegant dash of glitter that gives just the right amount of edge to any outfit. In fact, adding some sparkle to your look is not only one of 2011′s hottest trends — it’s also one of the easiest.  If you don’t already have your go -to sequin accessory, you need to get one before the holiday party circuit starts. Here, we’ve rounded up some of the glittery, most versatile pieces on the market. Get your shine on!

Clockwise from the top left: beret, $25 at Topshop; grey skinny scarf, $19 at myscarfshop.com, blazer, $158 at Victoria’s Secret, Kate Spade New York  Agatha bag, $295 at Neiman Marcus; three tiered sequin mini skirt, $79 at Express; Stripes glitter pump, $49 at Urban Outfitters.
