diy skin saver: the (great) pumpkin mask
If you read tarte talk on the regular, you already know that pumpkins are packed with all kind of good-for-you vitamins and minerals, but this squash’s ability to nourish skin goes beyond nutrition — it’s topical too! Grab your bottle of maracuja oil and few other natural ingredients to whip up this super hydrating and brightening DIY face mask.
What you’ll need:
2 cups of fresh, cooked and pureed pumpkin — you can substitute with canned pumpkin.
4 tablespoons of plain Greek yogurt
4 tablespoons honey
1/3 cup of ground almonds. Can’t find ground almonds? Use a coffee grinder to crush whole nuts.
1/4 tablespoon pure maracuja oil
Start by mixing all of the ingredients together in one bowl.
Let the mixture sit in a tub of warm water for 20 minutes — this ensures active enzymes.
Apply to clean, moist skin.
Leave the mask on for about 20 minutes, or until it begins to harden before wiping off with a warm washcloth.
Then enjoy bright, beautiful skin!
Cover the rest of the mixture and refrigerate. Use within a week, warming the mixture before each use.
