6 Great Cyber Monday Deals

I love a good bargain, and seeing the letters S. A. L. E. hanging in store windows makes my blood rush. Still, I’ve never been the type to get out of bed before dawn and battle the notoriously aggressive Black Friday crowds. Instead I spend Thanksgiving weekend plotting a Cyber Monday offense attack. As more online boutiques begin to throw their “free shipping” hats in the ring, the deals continue to get better. Below are six of the best internet bargains a girl can find.

1.  Amazon.com

This online emporium has so many incredible deals going on right now I can’t even list them all. Instead, I suggest you double-check your gift list and head straight to their site.

2. Jewelista.com

The cyber destination “where fashion discovers jewelry” is offering 20% off anything on the site between 11am and 3pm EST. Oh yeah, and they’re throwing in free shipping.

3. Gilt.com

The mega discount site will be launching brand new sales every three hours in all of their stores between noon and 9pm EST—plus their offering doorbusters for at least 70% off each round as well. If you’re not a member, perhaps you should look in to it.

4. Joesjeans.com

Is there anything better then a brand new pair of blue jeans? The denim purveyors are offering 30% off their entire site.

5. Aeropostale.com

With graphic Ts starting at $4 and outerwear at $15, you can afford to stock up for every kind of winter weather scenario possible.

Best Beauty Looks at the 2011 American Music Awards

From top left: Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez, and Audrina Patridge. Bottom row: Sarah Hyland, Selena Gomez, and Taylor Swift.

Retro glam, sleek metallics and glossy locks ruled the red carpet at last night’s American Music Awards, Nicki Manaj and Katy Perry battled it out for most outrageous outfit, and Taylor Swift snagged her Artist of The Year Award in a simple ponytail – but what really caught our eye was the flawless, lovely lip shades we spotted on nearly every songbird and starlet in attendance.

From Audrina Patridge’s deep berry pucker, to the soft, sweet pink shades on Heidi Klum and Selena Gomez – last night was all about the pout. Here, we’ve rounded up the best beauty looks of the night.

To replicate these perfect lip shades at home try our LipSurgence™ matte lip tints. For Taylor’s subtle hue, we recommend exposed. Want Selena’s perfect pink? Pick up the shade lucky.  To try Audrina’s to-die-for berry pout we suggest layering envy and hope.

Which lip shade are you most likely to sport yourself? Tell us on Twitter and Facebook.

Get Kristin Bauer’s Look

As vampy vixen Pam on the show, Kristin Bauer looked every bit her character when she stepped in to Sephora 5 Times Square for our Fashion’s Night Out event last Thursday. It was a look to die for, with sparkling crimson lips, a just-bitten flush, and smoldering vixen eyes thanks to the tarte™ for True Blood™ collection.

Once we saw Kristin, we knew we would be recreating the look on ourselves at home, so we asked tarte makeup artist Tony Ballard to share  how he achieved Kristin’s vampy glam:

Overall Inspiration: “I was inspired by Kristin’s True Blood® character Pam – I wanted her to be sassy, but still classic with a strong red lip.”

complexion & cheeks

-Tony smoothed Kristin’s complexion with tarte’s smooth operator™ tinted moisturizer in agent 12.

-Then he dabbed the tarte™ for True Blood™cheek stain on the apples of her cheeks and topped it off with tarte’s Amazonian clay shimmering powder in rose for instant radiance and subtle sheen.

-He set her complexion with tarte’s smooth operator™ Amazonian clay finishing powder.

eyes

-From the tarte™ for True Blood™ palette, he applied a soft wash of “the light,” a shimmering warm ivory over the entire lid, and then highlighted Kristin’s crease with “dusk,” a matte warm taupe.

-For extra drama to celebrate the evening, he used tarte’s multiplEYE™ lash enhancing liquid liner in black along her upper lash line.

-He then coated her top and bottom lashes with tarte’s gifted Amazonian clay smart mascara.

lips

-To complete Kristin’s look, Tony used tarte’s LipSurgence™ matte lip tint in fiery, a matte red, on her sexy pout.

Are you daring enough to try this look yourself? Show us! Post pictures of your vampy vixen self on our Facebook page.

tarte Rocks Fashion’s Night Out

Another New York Fashion Week, another Fashion’s Night Out — and it was a huge success! We were so excited to meet all the tartelettes who made it out, as well as those who tweeted along with us through the night.

The tarte™  team set up shop at Sephora 5 Times Square to celebrate FNO and our tarte™ for True Blood ™ collection,  where the stunning and eco-friendly celebrity Kristin Bauer, aka Pam from True Blood®, made an appearance. She looked absolutely gorgeous thanks to the help of our very own tarte makeup artist Tony Ballard. (p.s. Our next blog post will feature Kristin’s complete look with details on how you can recreate it). Kristin was wearing tarte’s LipSurgence™ matte lip tint in fiery, which gave her a perfectly sultry pout. Despite her day job playing the severe vamp Pam, Kristin was incredibly friendly and easy going. She stayed for over two hours to greet fans and pose for photos — the line to meet her stretched all the way around the store!

While Kristin was True Blooding it up with fans, our super talented team of tarte makeup artists were hard at work, giving mini makeovers to lucky FNOers (yeah, that line was pretty long too). By the end of the night Sephora was packed with perfectly done, sparkling red pouts.

And that’s not all, downtown, QVC hosted a star-studded event with a to-die-for beauty bar. While celebs like Heidi Klum, Isaac Mizrahi and Sarah Jessica Parker mingled, tarte’s very own Jen and Leigh were teaching party-goers how to create the perfect lip with LipSurgence™ lip tints.

And for those who couldn’t make it to any of the events in person, we also hosted our first FNO twitter raffle. We’re so pleased to announce @jules79200 as the winner of an exclusive tarte™ for True Blood ™ prize package!

It was a great evening, and we can’t wait to do it again. If you have stories or pictures from any of the events we’d love for you to share them with us on Facebook and Twitter!

tarte™ for True Blood™ takes over Manhattan

This past weekend I had the opportunity to spend some major time with True Blood’s makeup artist department head-Brigitte Myre-Ellis along with the NYC tarte and Sephora teams! I’m so excited to give you a rundown of the vampy festivities!

On Friday, the tarte team had an incredible Q&A  session with the beautiful Brigette Myre-Ellis. Not only is the woman a walking billboard for her INCREDIBLE work, but her grace and humility are unrivaled in an industry of egos. She spoke about her humble beginnings, rise to success, and of course, her inspiration for the scary-gorgeous looks she creates for True Blood. Her precocious start in the industry was especially resonant for me, and after having the opportunity to speak privately with her, I felt extremely motivated to continue following my dreams in the beauty industry.

Then, before I knew it, it was Saturday, and time for tarte’s big event! Feeling super-encouraged, I was excited for what the day ahead held! There was a tarte truck passing out delicious (and organic, of course) red velvet cupcakes parked right in front of the store on Broadway in SoHo, but inside, all of the Sephora cast members (employees) had been thoroughly vampire-fied! From blood to fangs to fairy-inspired glitter, it was all there! tarte™ for true Blood™ palettes lined each and every shelf, and gothic candelabras decorated the beauty studio. The outpouring of support and appreciation by Sephora’s staff was unparalleled with anything I had ever seen and I knew I was in for an amazing day!

So, from 12pm to 7pm, myself and the other tarte artists (I had the pleasure of working with Tony, Sasha, Shari, Christina, and of course, Brian) took Soho’s makeup-savvy set from simple and pretty to gloriously gorgeous! Whether they chose a look that Brigette designed (included in the palette) or we created one on-the-spot, all of our clients loved their new looks. What made their total “True Blood” transformations even better was that they got the chance to have their palettes signed by Brigette, who had set up shop in the front of the store from 2pm to 5pm.

After hours and hours of makeup mania, with just enough time to clean my brushes in between each client, I was tired yet fantastically energized by the event. It is wonderful to be able to bestow women with a sense of pride and beauty with our high-performance natural™ products. They can feel certain that the products they are now using are not harming the earth or their bodies but also not sacrificing color or performance with the dazzling new tarte™ for True Blood™ line.

Til next time!

Xoxo,

Charlotte
