Amazing for dry skin
I naturally have very dry skin, and I recently started using tretinoin (a strong prescription strength retinoid) and nothing was working to keep my skin from being so dry to the point that it was flaking and honestly painful. Literally heartbroken over the formula change.
This was my GO TO product for YEARS! One of the only things I could use on my skin. I got zero pimples, and I stayed perfectly hydrated. The most recent bottle I bought is a slightly different color and had a smell. It NEVER had a smell before. It’s gross, like orange pledge. I was hesitant, but continued to use it. I have now broken out constantly. In fact ANOTHER pimple just popped up and upset me so much I came here to write this. I hardly EVER write reviews, and when I do they are usually positive. I have no joke shed tears over this. I have NO idea why they would ever change this. Now I have to throw this bottle away and have NO idea what I will use now. Tarte, you dropped the ball on this one! :( please change it back!!!!!!

Formula change ruined it
This used to be my can’t live without it moisturizer but now it’s my never use again product. The formula change ruined an amazing product that I have used for years. The new smell is terrible, it caused acne which I have never have and it doesn’t seem to moisturize like it used to. Unfortunately I can’t return it so I’m just going to throw it away.

DISAPPOINTED in FORMULA CHANGE

I've used Maracuja oil for years, and I love it. I recently ordered a new one and found that it now has an awful smell. It smells like Pledge the cleaning product. I love this product so much. I also like the style of the container it comes in, unfortunately, I do not like the way the product’s bottle is made. Even with the top on tightly it still tends to spill. There were one too many times the bottle would spill into my make-up bag. With how expensive this product is, losing the oil so many times was very sad. I would rather not have to continually put the oil into another container, so if you could fix this issue, I’d be more than happy to keep spreading the word about how awesome this product is. I genuinely loved the product and was super excited about it. I didn't open in right away, it wasn't exposed to extreme temperatures and just stayed in my bathroom. Once I opened it it smelled amazing but after about a month or so of daily use it started to smell stale and I don't want to use it on my skin just in case. Such a bummer since I barely got to use it before it went bad. Would not purchase again.

Amazing- use it on split ends!!
I %100 love this stuff! I used it to treat my split ends just 3 times, 3 days in a row abundantly... and I can't find a single split end anywhere!! My hair has always split easily, my whole head of hair was split on the ends because I haven't been able to afford the beauty salon in almost 3 years. A friend gave me this oil & I'm so grateful bc I can keep growing my hair out, it's longer than it's ever been in my life, AND it's healthy! ??

I really like this product!
Tarte is very savvy with their marketing technique. They put the things that are "must haves" in with a small group of travel-sized items because they KNOW how much you are going to love it. This has happened to me several times, and sure enough I have gone back to the website to purchase them. The proof is in the pudding: The last time I saw my mother she said, "Your skin is GLOWING. I mean absolutely glowing. What are you doing differently?" And she's right - it does help your skin glow.

Sticky Residue Forms on the Inside
When I first got this, I liked the consistency and the moisture it provided but not the smell. However, after about 6 months I noticed that there was thick residue around the top on the inside. Then after a couple of weeks I noticed it on inside of the bottle at the top above where the oil was at. So I had to pour it out. Since the bottle is so nice I thought I could repurpose it. However, after 4 times of scrubbing it, I just can't get the residue off. I've never experienced this with any other oil I have used.

I was really excited to try this but on arrival the oil has a bizarre scent. It smelt like cooking oil. I was hesitant to put it on my face but I have found that it is great for my hands and nails.

I would assume the additional ingredients were included to retain the benefits of the vitamins and lessen and scent of the maracuja seed oil because users might be expecting a more citrus or floral passion fruit scent. The biggest complaint I noticed from other users reviews was the scent of the product, but since this oil was obtained from the seed of the plant, the more earthy or grain based/cooking oil scent seems expected. Definitely a more technical and in depth reason, but product formulation and consumer expectations are complicated when it comes to botanicals.

This is a very versatile product. I like to use it under my moisturiser face, neck and eyes. I have also used a very small drop on top of make up especially under the eye area if you find your concealer looking a bit dry which can show wrinkles. A very small amount though. Also good for the lips, hands and nails. Also, if you find your skin is a little sensitive, face and eyes, this is my go to product as it really soothes, nourishes and calms the skin. Great product.

I never really use it with my foundation since most of mine are water based and since the oil is nonpolar it would not mix with water very well...I use it as a nighttime serum and a spot treatment moisturizer before applying make up. I put on Tarte drink of H20 moisturizer 10 minutes after this serum always and I think they work well together since the oil sinks into the skin quickly.

Facial oils are always great to use at the end of your skin routine. Oil creates a barrier on your skin so any skincare you apply after oil would not be able to penetrate into your skin. That's why use an oil at the end (after serum, under eye cream, and moisturizer).

I don't often wear makeup, so I just wear is as my only product. Unless you have really dry skin, you won't need another moisturizer. When I do wear makeup, I wear it under foundation or just skip the foundation and wear it with a little concealer and blush.

I use this as a moisturizer, at night. It is a little heavy for the day time, but soaks in my skin at night wonderfully. I would recommend doing it daily if you have sensitive skin. Sometimes I skip, and then my pores have to readjust to the product.

This is BeYoNd worth the hype! I actually notice a difference if I Don't use it for a few days. I have dry skin and this keeps my skin so moisturized, soft and dewy. I see a difference the next day, but the more you use it, the better your skin will continue to look. I can't stress how beautifully hydrated and glowy this makes my skin. I used to use it like a serum - before the moisturizer. But I read that oils should be used After the moisturizer, and this also not only made a difference, but it allowed me to combine it with my favorite serums. So now I - wash my face, apply serum, apply moisturizer, then apply maracuja oil. If I'm in a hurry, I just skip the serum. Other products have come and gone over the years, but this is one of the few products that will ALWAYS be in my nighttime routine!!

I do think it’s worth the hype! I have very sensitive skin and this doesn’t irritate it at all. I use it in my roots and it’s helped my hair grow so much quicker and I use it on my skin which hydrates and softens the skin. I’m on my 2nd bottle already!

For me, I do often get clogged pores but with using this product, it has helped them enormously as I have realised that I strip away all the oils in my skin with other products but this product has definitely helped to replace these oils, whilst nourishing my skin.

I've noticed when I am more physically active and sweat more I don't need the extra oil as much. If you noticed it gives you breakouts use less or alternate using a normal facial moisturizer every other day or so. Hope this helps!

I like my skin to soak it in for at least 15-20 mins before putting on anything else. but it really depends on how hydrated your skin is and how much you put on. Sometimes when my skin is really dehydrated it soaks up the oil almost instantly! That all being said I like to put it on at night before bed.
